Beth's Shower

This is a little late...but few weekends ago a few friends and I threw Beth a baby shower. Her little guy could be arriving any day now! Can't wait to meet him! Here are some pics of the shindig...(these were all the prego girls lined up in order of due date)

Boston was in town this week and Maddux absolutely loved having his cousin to play with. We decided to hit up both Children's museums and see which we liked best. We went to Mesa's first...pretty much there were a few toys to play with and a lot of coloring to do. Not bad to get out of the heat and the kids had fun...

(this is my mom, enjoying the monster exhibit a bit too much) :) The next day we went to the Phoenix Children's museum I was skeptical because it's a farther drive and costs more money. Let me tell you... it was AMAZING!!!! Paisley and Lauren joined us and there was something for each of the kids! I LOVE LOVE LOVED it! I left with a Year Pass, so if anyone is ever up for going, call me! (Did I mention we loved it?)

Funny Things..

For weeks, Maddux has been saying, "Ba Ba Ba ...Keeey" "Ba Ba Ba...Keeey" all the time, and Drew and I have not been able to figure out what he is saying. He will sit in his car seat in the back of the car and say it over and over to himself.

Last night we had a hilarious breakthrough. The TV was on and Maddux was playing with his toys. The song "Poker Face" by Lady Gaga came on the TV. It says, "Pa Pa Pa Poker Face, Pa Pa Poker faaaace". Maddux got really excited and started saying "Ba Ba Ba Keeey" along with the music! Apparently I listen to my music a little too loud and a little too often in the car!

And...this is a pic a snapped while Maddux was using his potty. He is not a fan of sitting, he will only stand, but he makes it everytime. I just really think that pooping is going to be a serious issue for us!

18 months...

My little guy is 18 months already! Time is flying and he is getting so big! Today was his 18 month appointment (2 weeks late) and he did NOT love the shots. Poor kiddo!

He talks nonstop. But he only says one syllable of each word...
"tray"= train
"ma"=maddux
"ca"= car
"ish"= fish
"blo"= block
"mo"= more
lots more...but those are his faves.
He has his own language, but luckily we are starting to catch on!

He is super social these days and loves to be around and play with other kids. He waves hi to everyone wherever we go (especially to elderly people!) He is loving nursery and so are we!
He loves to figure out how things work and how things fit together. He likes to put things "ba" (back) and he hates having a dirty face or hands. He's got quite a personality and cracks me up on a daily basis.

He goes pee in his potty every time we take him and he loves it and the Skittle he gets after. No idea when or how to start with poops though. (eek!)

He is still into EVERYTHING and I have to keep my eyes on him at all times. He has been stuck in places I never thought he could fit, gotten more bruises than I've ever known possible, and made messes like I've never seen.
But boy do I LOVE this kid!

Daddy had the day off so we spent the morning at Bass Pro Shop. Maddux is definitely in a stage where he loves animals and since it's too hot for the zoo right now, we admired the dead/stuffed animals instead of the live ones. :)

Best Friends...

These two get into everything together. They jumped like this FOREVER tonight. Maddux is going to sleep well! :)
