V-day
We had a fun, but not-so-typical Valentine's Day this year!
I woke up early and rode with Melanie and Jared to the Two-Sisters-One-Heart 5K in Queen Creek. It was a smaller race raising money for conjoined twins Taylor and Emma. The best thing about small races is that you have less people to compete with and your odds of placing goes WAY up! I actually got an "award" yesterday!! I placed first in my age group and I was the third female overall in the 5k. I was pretty excited and my good friend Brandis (who also kicked butt in the 5K - Go Brandis!)was nice enough to stick around for an hour and a half so I could get my "award" and then drove me home.(the "award" I was given...the 7th graders at the local elementary school made and painted them)
Drew and Maddux had rosees and cards waiting for me when I got home. I really loved the card Maddux got me this year.
Drew also got me these awesome glasses because Spy's are my very fave! (Mine are a different color, but I can't find a pic of them anywhere!)
I got Drew 4- 12 packs of Mountain Dew and a giftcard to Dick's Sporting Goods.
(If you can't beat em'- join em', right?)Then we went to Texas Roadhouse for dinner, Maddux in tow. We waited for an hour and forty five minutes for what we thought would be a Valentine's Meal special we had seen online (appetizer, 2 entrees, 2 desserts for $30). When we sat down, the waitress had NO idea what we were talking about and Maddux was completely SPENT and ready for bed. We made the best of the situation, inhaled our food at lightening speed and hurried home. Maddux went right to sleep and Drew and I were asleep on the couch within 45 minutes. Romantic, huh?
It really was a fun day! Drew is the best husband ever and treats me like a queen everyday, so I guess we didn't really need a special day for that afterall, right?
I am a lucky girl!

OOPS!
We have been taking Maddux to Snip-Its for his haircuts. BUT...we decided that it cost way too much and I was sure that I was capable of doing it at home. Well, the answer, my friends, is NO...I am not capable. Maddux now has a buzz cut and I'm SO sad that I can't spike it or make his faux-hawk that I love so much! :( Hopefully it will grow out really fast!
