Amazing friends...

(Sorry to Aubry for stealing her picture and post) I have AMAZING friends out here in Gilbert! One of the extra bonuses to being a new stay at home mom is the chance to go out to lunch with friends! We totally take advantage of this privilege. :) I have so much fun with all these girls! (everyone can't come to lunch because some of our amazing friends work for a living! We still love you!) Thanks to you all for your friendships and for the great examples you are to me and my little family.

The Hinckley Challenge...

President Hinckley often stressed our making the Book of Mormon part of our lives. He was 97 when he passed away, and we would like to celebrate his life and teachings by reading the Book of Mormon in 97 days.

Bathtime...

Maddux looks so serious during his bath! He has recently realized that a bath is not actually torture and can be enjoyable when you don't scream your head off the whole time. :)

Need a refresher in American Government...

So today I made it a goal to do my duty as an American and go out and vote! Maddux and I waited for forty-five minutes in the A-L line. When we got to the front, Drew was on the list but I wasn't! The nice lady kindly told me that I would need to go to the end of the "Provisional voting" line. I kindly said a few things under my breath, seeing that the line would take another 20 minutes...at least! So, I wait...then my sister Amber calls and she tells me that she is waiting for her husband to get home so she can go vote, "He can watch the kids while I vote...since he is registered as Independent and can't vote today". A light went off in my head...I am registered as an Independent! If only I had paid attention in Mr. Puga's Government class I would know that YOU CAN'T VOTE IN A PRIMARY ELECTION IF YOU ARE REGISTERED AS AN INDEPENDENT!!! So, an hour of my day...wasted! Yes...feel free to laugh! I am an idiot but I laughed my head off the whole way home! :)

Drew the Racecar Driver...

For Christmas my dad got all three of his son in laws the Richard Petty Experience. Friday they got to drive Nascars at Phoenix International Raceway. First they went on a ride-a-long, then they were set free to drive alone! I would have FREAKED OUT! Drew had a blast! I have more pictures, but I am having a hard time opening the huge file to save them to my computer, so hopefully there will be more to come.

Tired much...?

So, this makes me feel old...Drew, Maddux and I all fell asleep at 6:30 tonight! Wow! Luckily we have Maddux who woke us up at 9:00 so we could give him his bath. We snapped these pics right after the bath. ( He is 4 weeks today.)

XBox Dad...

Drew and Joel FINALLY convinced my dad to give the XBox a try! They played Call of Duty and it was just about the coolest thing I have ever seen, watching my dad playing XBox with my husband! I actually think he may have enjoyed it too! Anyway, who knows how often this will happen, so I had to post some pics!

Maddux and Family...

So, every Saturday and Sunday morning Drew is so sweet and takes Maddux downstairs for a few hours while I clock in a few extra hours of sleep. They always cuddle on the couch and watch sports. I think it's sooo cute!

3 weeks already!

I can't believe how fast time is flying! Maddux is already 3 weeks old! Crazy! Here are a few of our latest pics!

Lesson's learned...

I have experienced a whole two weeks of motherhood and I feel like I have learned so much! Here are a few things...

• As soon as you change his diaper, he is guaranteed to poop within five minutes
• Sleeping at night is a thing of my past
• A breast pump is more valuable than I would have ever imagined!!
• What "engorgement" means!
• Hormones don't stop messing with you just because you are no longer prego
• Being on time is mission impossible
• A 'Hooter Hider' only works if someone does not accidentally lift it up and expose you to the whole room
  
• He loves me no matter how horrible my singing voice is or that I don't actually know the words to "Rock-a-by baby"
• Friends who bring dinners are amazing (thank you to all of you!!)
  
• A 6 pound little man can create more laundry than two full grown adults
• A two week old can make an amazing friend...I have so much fun with him.
• Single mothers are saints...I could never do this without Drew's help, he is a great dad!!

Many, MANY more lessons to be learned...what an adventure! :)

Sucked in...

So - many of you have recommended this book to me and I'm sure I told all of you that it's just not "my type" of book. The only books I can get into are true crime books. Well, my mother in law got it for me for Christmas so I thought I would give it a try- fairly certain I wouldn't make it more than a couple pages into a crazy book about vampires! Wow, was I ever wrong! I had to go buy the second book tonight (I'm not quite done with the first but I didn't dare risk finishing it on Sunday and being without #2 right away) and I do have to say how silly I feel that the only book I have bought in ages was found under the "Great Gifts For Kids" section. :) Anyway, for the record...you were all right and I was wrong! Great vampire books!!

Camera Happy...

I apologize to everyone because I know that I know that I am nothing short of out of control lately with all the Maddux pictures. I just can't help myself! So, here are the latest...

They kept telling me I was going to have a "big baby" and so I skipped right over all the newborn clothes and stocked up on 0-3 month. Well, our little 6 pounder doesn't FIT in any of his 0-3 month clothes, so here he is looking like a little thug! I still think he looks adorable!

Lovingly Exhausted...

Well, its 5:00am, I have not been asleep in my bed yet tonight (I did fall asleep on the couch during a movie though), I am completely and utterly exhausted right now, and just a few minutes ago I was filled with frustration. But now I'm sitting here typing this with one hand and holding my baby in the other, we are listening to a cd of the sweetest and softest primary songs (thank you Stephanie) and my emotions have totally gotten the best of me (cue the waterworks). I feel so lucky to be able to be awake here holding this healthy, happy baby boy. This is all I have wanted for so long. I am so thankful that Heavenly Father has entrusted Drew and I with this amazing little guy. What a blessing. So, this may be exhausting, but it is so worth every waking second that I can spend holding and loving my baby.

Aunt Amber got Maddux this cute Giraffe blanket and it is so teeny. It was so funny today because Drew put it on Maddux and it totally covers him up! It's only about 18 inches by 18 inches...He is so so small! Anyway, I think he loves it, Thanks Amb!

Guitar Hero!

We got Guitar Hero last night and although I was actually excited about playing it, Maddux and I were both exhausted. Here is Drew enjoying his new game. Now we've just got to get another guitar so I can show him how it's really done! :)
(lots of sarcasm here...I really really stink at it, but it doesn't stop me from liking it!)

Obsessed much?

More pics...I just can't help myself! I have NEVER been so camera happy! I actually took my camera to Maddux's first doctor's appointment today but in all the action, I totally forgot to bust it out! sad! All is well, he is a healthy and happy baby! I couldn't be more proud or obsessed!

Worth the wait...

Here he is, baby Maddux Craig Ingram has finally decided to come and join our family. We have waited (not so patiently at times) for this amazing day!
He was born on Saturday December 29th at 11:26am weighing 6 pounds, 13 ounces and 20.25 inches long.
He is absolutely adorable and I could not be a happier mommy right now!

He is a little jaundice and had a bilirubin light pad on him Sunday night. He hated it so much, but he looked like the CUTEST little glow worm I have ever seen! Sadly, the pictures don't do justice to the cuteness!
