Happy Easter!!

We had a very relaxed Easter this year. We started off on Saturday with a ward breakfast and Easter egg hunt. Maddux got his first Egg! We spent the night at my parent's house and went to church with our families. We had a picnic at the park down the street from my parent's house for our dinner. It was so much more relaxed than the traditional meal with tons of cooking and cleanup (we still had TONS of food), we played whiffle ball, and mostly just hung out. Drew and I agreed that this would be our new family tradition for our own little family. Maddux loved being outside in the amazing AZ weather! It's been in the 80's here and it's a great reminder of why I LOVE this place!! It was a great Easter!

Voting Confusion...

I have had two blog comments, a couple of texts, and some family having a hard time with the voting. It's confusing!!!! Cutest Baby...???

Ok, I am fully aware of the fact that I am a big nerd...but to confirm that even more...I have entered Maddux into the "Baby Idol 2008" for Mix 96.9. Basically...it's a baby photo contest. So...he needs as many votes DAILY as possible. If we win (which means we need a LOT LOT LOT of votes EVERY day) I get to finally landscape our backyard. St. Patty's Day!

Growing up my mom always decorated and fed us according to even the smallest holiday....St. Patrick's Day included. Every year we had a green meal and we usually had a fun treat at our plate for either breakfast or dinner. What a great tradition. I've tried to keep this up with my own family. Unfortunately yesterday I didn't even realize it was St. Patrick's day! (I didn't even have ANY green on!) Sad! Luckily Amber called and reminded me so I threw together a green meal (spinach tortellini with green alfredo, fruit salad (green fruit only), french bread with green butter, and green sugar cookies) and we had Megan and Jeff over for Dinner. I LOVE holidays!

Another photoshoot...

Aubry was so nice to do a photo shoot for Maddux. (startinphoto.com) I was getting pretty proud of my photography skills, until Aubry took these! :) She is amazing and I just happen to think Maddux is kinda cute, so I am a HUGE fan of these new pictures!!! I apologize ahead of time... I had a hard time narrowing them down!

Maddux's First Baseball Game...

We took Maddux to a Spring Training Game today. The Diamond Backs vs. The A's. We didn't get to see much of the game because we spent an hour searching for a parking spot and then had to leave in the 7th inning because the three of us were melting in the sun. Maddux didn't enjoy it as much as we were hoping he would, he was a little fussy in the heat (I don't blame him).

Suns Game...

Thank you to Lauren and TJ for taking us to the Suns game last night. We had a blast! We started the night off sitting in some awesome seats close to the floor. Drew and I bought some NASTY $6 pizza, a $4 water bottle, and a $5 watered down lemonade. After choking down the pizza, Drew and TJ decided to go up to a suite where TJ had tickets. AMAZING! Free water bottles (yes, the same ones we had just paid $4 for!) delicious chicken, pasta, fruit, a dessert platter. It was so fun! The Suns "poned" (as Drew would say) The Grizzlies, I got to watch Jenny (the Phoenix Sun's Dancer from the Bachelor), and after leaving my phone in the suite, it was still there when we walked all the way back...it was an overall GREAT night!

Bop Bop's Birthday

Yesterday was my dad (Bop Bop)'s Birthday. We spent the day in Ahwatukee and Maddux got lots of good bonding time with Bop Bop. Brooklyn and Boston (my niece and nephew) started a tradition years ago of hunting for golf balls with my dad. Every Sunday they would go search for golf balls behind my parent's house on the golf course. Maddux got to carry on the tradition yesterday. Sadly, there were no golf balls to be found. But I did get a couple of cute pics of my dad with Maddux. Happy Birthday Bop Bop!!! Love you!!

Bye Bye Mullet...

Yesterday I was finally able to convince Drew to let us buzz Maddux's mullet! His hair is still growing in pretty splotchy all over his head, but it looks WAY WAY better than the mullet!

Maddux's Blessing

Saturday night I had three bad dreams... all involving Maddux's blessing.

One of them went like this...
We got to the church with all of our family, sat down and sacrament meeting began, there were several baby blessings...but they forgot all about us and moved right on with the meeting!
Bad dream, huh?
So, when we got to the church I made Drew go up and remind the bishopric that we were blessing Maddux today. Although Drew thought I was being ridiculous, he complied and made the reminder. Sacrament started and yes...my horrible dream came true anyway!!!
They really forgot about us!
Drew had to go charging up there, Maddux in tow! It was funny but a little embarrassing! Anyway...here some pictures of Maddux's special day! Thank you to all the friends and family who were there to see him!!

2 months...

I cannot believe my little guy is already 2 months old. It is crazy how time flies. I absolutely LOVE being a mom and I obviously love documenting every minute on my camera (sorry to all of you who are probably bored stiff of Maddux pictures...TOO BAD!) :)

Today was Maddux's 2 month appointment which means shots! So sad! He was having so much fun jabbering to the doctor and smiling so big that his oral vaccine was dripping all over the place, until the shots. He was so sad and his face turned BRIGHT red in about a half of a second. It broke my heart...! He cried it out for about 10 minutes until Aunt Amber calmed him right down and he has pretty much been fine ever since (AKA sleeping).

He is just a little peanut...he weighs 11 pounds 4 ounces, which is only the 34th percentile for weight and he is in the 80th percentile for height. So, we have a tall skinny guy on our hands! I love it!

Avon Lady...

Yes...I know it sounds a little funny, but I am now an Avon Lady (can I say Avon "girl" instead? "Lady" sounds so old!!") Anyway, if you need makeup, bubble bath, cheap jewelry, lotions, or other random stuff they sell these days...I'm your girl! I'm pretty excited about it but I need to find people who are interested! Let me know! And tomorrow I'm going to post a link to a website so you can order online if you want! So...that's my new adventure... Avon Girl!

Baby Announcment...

I'm a little slow...but I am FINALLY getting Maddux's baby announcements out. I was going to send them to all friends and family, but I ended up deciding not to send them to friends that are in my ward. It was a big step for me to make these in the first place, so sending out more than 40 was a bit more than I was willing to take on. Anyway, here is the finished product, but this looks lopsided when I scan it, but it's not lopsided in real life...so I'm not sure what the deal is. Oh well!

running vs jogging....?

When I was in college my friend and I had a completely pointless ongoing debate about the difference between being a "runner" and being a "jogger". To me, a runner is someone who is much more serious about running than a "jogger". They know about form, how to breathe, and can run long distances on a regular basis- easily. Well today is the day that I sadly demote myself from "runner" to "jogger" (someone who hasn't a clue what they are doing, just out for a sporadic run...you know...the people who you see running along side of the road looking like they are going to keel over and die any second???!!!) Yes...that was me today. I took my amazing jogging stroller out for it's maiden voyage and lets just say....we didn't make it far! My body was in shock...YIKES am I ever in awful shape. I have a LOT of work to do to get back to my regular running. I loved it though! And thank you again to my friends for getting me the stroller at my baby shower!

The bumbo and photoshoot...

We decided to give the Bumbo a try today. I was certain he was going to be too small for it, but he absolutely loved sitting up like a big kid! He gets tired pretty quick though, after about 15 minutes in the seat, he was completely lopsided and looking a little exhausted.

I went out to my mom's house and we had a little Maddux-photo shoot (not that I am in any way lacking pictures of him already!!) I love all his face expressions!

Spin

One of the things that I have looked forward to most about being NOT pregnant is being able to run and go to spin class again. Stephanie and I have decided to help push each other along! We started going to the 5:45am class on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I have already needed some pushing! It is REALLY hard to get out of bed at 5 when you have been up 3 times in the night and it's dark and rainy outside. But...totally worth it when you are done and know you got an amazing workout! (Thank you Stephanie for motivating me this morning!) I am bound and determined to be in decent swimsuit condition before our family cruise in May (86 days)!!

Not that I need an excuse...but....

I just want to justify my obsession with blogging about Maddux (other than having nothing to do between the hours of 1am-6am while nursing). Drew and I both have family out of state who only get to see Maddux through the wonderful invention of the blog! No matter how frequently I post pictures, I have demands from family for new and updated pics. I am REALLY glad that I have this excuse though because I'd probably be just as obsessed anyway. So, here are the latest...

Here is the lil guy all bundled up in his blanket at Drew's softball game...I bought this new outfit for him yesterday and it is my new favorite! He looks like a little stud. We set up this little photoshoot and before I could get a picture I really love, he had a poop explosion, and dirtied his whole outfit!! (No fear though... I have already washed it to be re-worn tomorrow)... This look says, "I'm an angel who doesn't keep my mom up all night long!" - Don't fall for it for a second!! :)

Bad photography...

I took so many pictures today and I didn't realize that all but this one look awful because I turned the flash off. Bummer! I do love this picture though!My little "rock star"This is how the little guy sleeps- arms up, one eye slit open! Hilarious, but also slightly creepy when you can see his eye darting around.
