7 months!

wow....another month has already gone by! My boy is growing up so fast!! This month has had so many "firsts". Maddux got his first tooth, first craw/army scoot, he can sit up alone for an endless period of time, and he started on fruits and rice puffs. Here are a few pics of our little guy during this month:

Swim Lessons

Maddux started swim lessons yesterday! It was...well....interesting! Maddux already loves the pool and would spend hours kicking in any water. I think these swim lessons are designed just to get babies comfortable being in the water, what did I expect for a 6 month old though, huh? Either way, he had a lot of fun! We have the lessons everyday for two weeks with Maddux's friend Parker from our ward. There are only three kiddos in the class, Parker, Zuzu and Maddux. Watch out world, they might just be swimming laps around us when they are done!

The Huish Goodbye :(

Our friends Kelly and Eric are moving to Glendale (even though it's only on the other side of the valley...with gas prices what they are...we probably won't get to see them much). So, Megan threw them a going away BBQ on Saturday. It was a lot of fun for everyone to get together. There were SO many babies/kids all in one place. It made me really excited for when they are all older and can really play with each other!
We will miss you Eric and Kelly!!

All the girls...(minus Lauren and Aubry who were out of town)

Scootin'

Maddux is really getting this scooting/army crawl thing down. He knows that he can move to get his toys now. He is mobile. I think it's so funny to watch him because he only uses one leg to push himself!

Our little buddy!

Maddux is such a fun age right now. It's so fun to be able to interact with him and he is developing quite a little personality! I have a hard time coming to grips with the fact that he is growing so fast, but we are having an absolute blast with him!
He was totally worth the two years of tearful waiting and I am so blessed to have him and Drew!

4th of July

The 4th of July has always been my favorite holiday. I love that it's the only big summer holiday, there is no pressure of gift giving, it's a fun family day, and the entertainment is free! Well this year was one of my favorites. After my morning run Drew, Maddux and I took it easy all day. We slept, ate, watched TV, went to the pool and around 5:00 we finally got ready for the day and left the house. We went to Dick's Sporting Goods (one of Drew's very favorite stores) then we met Nate, Becca, Soren, and Sophie for dinner at Texas Roadhouse (We opted out of BBQ-ing in the 105 degree heat). Then we drove over to Tumbleweed park for the fireworks show. It was supposed to start at 9:30 and it didn't start until almost 10:00. It's NOT a nice thing to keep a VERY excited almost-three-year old waiting to see fireworks for the first time! It was so cute to watch Soren be so excited. All-in-all the show was a hit. Even the babies did great! Sophie was in awe the whole time! Maddux had a bit of a scare in the middle but recovered pretty quickly. My favorite part of the entire day was watching Maddux watch the fireworks. I probably looked at him more than I did the sky.
Drew and I agreed last night that being parents is the coolest thing EVER!

Maddux 6 month stats...

Thursday was Maddux's six month checkup. He did great considering he had to have all his six month vaccinations. (Still one of my very least favorite things). He had some pretty serious alligator tears for about 5 minutes, then he settled right down and eventually took a really long nap. What a trooper!

He weighs 16 pounds 2 ounces, which still has him in the 25th percentile.
But he is now 28 inches long which jumped him up into the 90th percentile for height!
His head circumference is 17.25 inches which is in the 50th percentile.
I still can't believe I have a six month old! I love it!

6 months!!!

I know I say this every month, but I can't believe Maddux is already 6 months! He is growing up so fast! His 6 month well-checkup isn't until Wednesday, so I will have to report his stats in a few days. No teeth have cut through yet, but I'm hoping it happens soon to get him out of his misery. He is also trying desperately to crawl. He is getting himself up on his knees and can kind of pull himself forward (no serious movement yet). It's really fun watching him figure it out. The other funny thing is that no matter how we lay him down in his crib, he rolls over and sleeps on his stomach with his bum in the air. We can roll him back on to his back and five minutes later he is sleeping on his tummy again.
Here are a few pictures from this weekend.

Nothing New...

I don't really have anything new to blog about. But here are some random pics of our growing little guy for all the family in Utah, California, and Colorado. Love you all!!!
We are getting our first experience with teething! Not my favorite! I feel so bad for him because you can just tell he is sad and in pain. Gotta love this stuff..

Drew's Big Weekend...

This was a busy week for Drew! We got to celebrate his first Father's Day on Sunday and then Monday was his birthday. For his birthday, we had a whiffle ball picnic in our neighborhood on Saturday. Besides the blistering heat and the swarms of flies attacking the food, the party was a hit. We ordered a 6 foot sub and everyone brought something to share. We played a game of whiffle ball and some CornHole. I'm so bummed because I completely forgot to take any pictures of the big event! What was I thinking!?

Anyway, the next day was Father's Day! We went to my mom and Dad's house for Dinner where Drew and my Dad both got their favorite meal of my mom's amazing ribs (I HEAR they are amazing...I don't eat ribs, but they sure smelled tasty!) The boys and Kasey jumped over the fence and hit some golf balls out on the course and then we all took a little swim to cool off after the sun went down.
my dad at the bbq in 110 degree heat!...
this is the centerpiece for our father's day dinner. my mom decorated it with candies that "describe" men- "nerds", "big hunks", "lifesavers", "kissables", etc...so cute!
I have to say that I am so lucky to have married such an amazing man who is a GREAT husband and an even better Dad. Maddux is one lucky kid. He loves playing with his Daddy and Drew never fails to make him smile and squeal with laughter. What a great dad! I love you!!!

I am also blessed to have an awesome dad of my own. I love his great example of how he lives his life. He always has time to have fun and make us all laugh. I love spending time with him, he really is one of my best friends!

My dad insisted on feeding Maddux something new at dinner. When I refused to let him eat a candy bar, ribs, or corn, my dad settled for feeding him a mashed up banana...this is a before eating and after eating picture...not a fan, I'd say.

Nope, Drew's big weekend isn't over yet! Monday was his actual birthday. 27! Old Man!!! :) Maddux and I drove to Honeywell and took him to lunch at Macayo's. My mom and dad took us all out to dinner to Rustler's Rooste for his birthday dinner. This place is awesome! They have a live country band, a giant slide and a dance floor. After Dinner we all went to the driving range to hit some balls. Drew got some practice hitting his new Hybrid club I got him and I came to the realization that I STINK at hitting a golf ball!

When we got home Drew and I dug into a piece of the hamburger cake I made him. He was telling me over the weekend how his mom used to make these amazing hamburger cakes when he was little, but that he never actually got to eat them. I am not nearly as talented as Wendy (my mother-in-law) but I attempted to surprise him with his very own hamburger cake. It's far from fancy, but it actually LOOKS better than it tastes! (It was pretty gross!)
Happy Birthday Drew, We Love you!!!!

So Much to Blog About...

I don't even know where to start! I have so many pictures, so be prepared for a LONG post!
Desert Breeze Park
First off, Amber, Tyler, Brooklyn and Boston came out and spent a week in "Zona" since the cruise got postponed. We had a ton of fun and a week went by WAY too fast!
One of our fun days was at Desert Breeze Park in Chandler....

SistersDaddy playing with Maddux in the splash padGrandma and Bop Bop with MadduxDaddy and Maddux watching the birdsUtah
Our next adventure so far this summer was driving to Utah with Kasey and Joel to visit the boys family! It was a really long drive but Maddux did great on his first road trip. We still haven't been able to get him back to his normal sleeping schedule (poor me!!!!!) but we had a lot of fun visiting everyone!

Here is Maddux is Grandma & Grandpa Tattersall's high chair. Maddux got to meet his second cousin, Ethan. They look so much alike and are only a couple of months apart. They had a lot of fun "playing" with each other on the ground. They are both super happy and smiley babies, it was fun to watch.
Grandpa Ingram holding Maddux for the first time. We visited Grandma Ingram in the hospital. I know she is going to kill me for posting this picture because I promised her that I wouldn't, but Maddux just loved her and we want to remember it always!
We also had a big gathering of the Tattersall side of the family (Drew's grandparents on his mom's side). Tons of food and TONS of kids!!! We never got a big group picture, which I am really sad about, but there were just too many people there.

Grandma Tattersall with Maddux

This is another one of Maddux's second cousins, Eli. I think they look so much alike too! It was hard to get a good picture of the two of them because Maddux kept rolling on TOP of Eli everytime I would snap the picture, so this is as good as I got! Every time Drew and I make the drive to Utah we try to cram it into a 3 day weekend. When we get back we ALWAYS say, "we are never doing that again!". Well, we did it again and it was actually a lot of fun and I'm so glad we went. Thank you to Kasey and Joel for inviting us and driving! Thank you Grandma and Grandpa for letting us stay at your house and for ALL the yummy food! By the way, I lucked out and only had to drive for 3 hours on the way there. I think the rest of the passengers were a little annoyed at my NON-speeding driving technique and offered to not make me drive again! Darn!

5 Months already!
Maddux turned five months a few days ago. I don't have any brand new pictures because I left my camera in Kasey and Joel's car from our trip. But..I have a few videos from this week that I love. The quality is awful because they are taken on my cell phone. sorry!
