i completely forgot to write about this story from wednesday:

while in the waiting room at the pediatrician, i let maddux stand up and play with the big train table in the middle of the room. there were three other boys playing, all at least three years old. each of them was quietly playing with the trains and maddux was so excited to be standing there with the "big kids". he reached for one of the trains that a blonde haired boy was playing with. the kid snapped his hand back, put his hands on his hips and says to maddux,
"don't do that. i could beat you up!!! i'm bigger than you!!".
wow! should i have been mad? i was cracking up! maddux is looking at him super excited that the big kid is talking to him and gets a big grin on his face and continues his babbling, "ba ba da daba da".

so maybe it was only funny to me, but what is the world coming to?! three year olds threatening 9 month olds.

ps- blonde haired kid's mom was nowhere in sight!

Tarah....Tarah....Tarah...that little of counter of your might as well be taunting me too. I get nervous every time I look at it. What's with the heartbeat monitor-as if the countdown to running a marathon isn't scary enough-add a heartbeat monitor just to see if you actually suffer a heart attack from the anxiety of it all...or running for three hours. I guess it actually might serve a purpose after all. If you have haven't died before the counter gets down to 0:0:0:0 you are gonna do fine! Woo Woo! GOOD LUCK!!! Lookin' forward to the post marathon update!

Wow, Tarah. That's really funny, and yet really sad at the same time. Why is that kid talking about beating any child up? However, I wouldn't put it past my child to say something like that. I've never talked about that to him, but I'm not sure that I would put it past him. Anything they hear from older kids or in a move stays in their heads--AND IT'S ALWAYS THE THINGS YOU DON'T WANT THEM TO HEAR!!! Yikes! Anyway, I wanted you to know I'm thinking of you and will be praying for you. Good luck in your race tomorrow. I know you'll do GREAT!!!
